Committees
Committees help the Flanor board by organizing activities, creating promo material, translating texts, and much more. Their goal is to contribute to the association and have a lot of fun while doing it.
Just as with the board and the reading group leaders, committee members are active Flanorians and without them our association would not be able to flourish.
If you want to join a committee, you can send a message to our Commissioner of Internal affairs (Bram Henstra). You can also send a message if you don't know which committee you want to join or if you want more information about a committee.
Overview of Flanor's committees
Activity Committee (Accie): The Activity Committee is fun as your first Committee, and for people who have fun ideas for activities that would suit Flanor! Chair: Merel Hofman
Advice Committee: The Advice Committee is selected yearly by the board and gives well-meaning advice, both prompted and unprompted. Members are usually past board members. Chair: Merel Jacobs
Archive Committee: Literatief issues, posters, administration, photos... Each year Flanor produces great quantities of these kinds of documents and it's always fun to see them when looking back in the Archive. This committee sporadically collects, prepares, and delivers documents to the Grongingerarchive. Chair: Angela Boersma
Almanac Committee: In 2020 Flanor became 35 years old! this means Flanor will become 40 in 2025. There is still being worked hard on the Almanac of 2020 but we will also need members for the 40th birthday of Flanor. In a Almanac you can find things and memory's from the last 5 years. So you will probably find a lot of nostalgia in this committee. Chair: Maarten Praamstra
Gala Committee: The Flanorgala happens around the end of every study year. This will sometimes be done in cooperation with another student association and sometimes only with Flanor members. This is a fun Committee which can always use new members. Chair: Wiegert Kaal
Guest Writer Committee: Traditionally, Flanor provides the university's guest writer committee with a member to join them in their work. Currently Leah is part of this communittee.
Intro Committee: The intro committee organizes a number of activities at the beginning of the academic year to let new members more easily get to know each other and the rest of Flanor. Example activities include a pubquiz, or playing games together. Chair: Suzanne Frenk
KasCie: The KasCie (audit committee) The KasCie is composed annually by the GMA. This committee supervises Flanor’s treasurer and finances. It convenes about once every two months. Chair: Martta Brok
KeiCie: The KeiCie (Keiweek committee) helps the board with part of the organization of our Keiweek activities. they also help by being present at these activities. Chair: Suzanne Frenk
Literatief: Of course, there would be no Literatief without the editorial committee! Do you enjoy writing? Or is graphic design your passion? Maybe the Literatief is for you! More info here. Head editors: Martta Brok & Lysanne Kloosterman
Lustrum Committee: Flanor celebrated its seventh Lustrum in 2020! Next Lustrum year will be 2025. Chair: -
Promo Committee: The promotion committee makes poster for promoting Flanor and helps with other things to promote Flanor. Chair: Melanie Vegter
Readathon Committee: The Readathon Committee organizes a Readathon 2 times a year. A Readathon is an event spread over the course of a week. During this event attendees read books with a specific genre, participate in a photochallange, do a bakeoff and a movie night. Chair: Tamara de Bruin
SocCie: The Social Media Committee makes sure Flanor stays active on social media. They do this by sharing foto's and video's of the activities and with other posts that could be of interest to Flanor members or potential new members. Chair: Frank van Niejenhuis
Translation Committee (VerTaCo): This committee translates texts for Flanor. This is not a very busy committe except for the month before the GMA. Chair: Melanie Vegter
