Vamba Sherif is a writer, journalist, film critic, curator and motivational speaker. He was born in Liberia and raised partly in Kuwait and Syria. He has written several novels, including The Emperor's Son, Bound to Secrecy and Land of My Fathers. His work deals with themes of migration, belonging, love, slavery past, colonialism and the tension between moderate and radical Islam. His most recent novel, Ongekende Liefde, was published in April 2023.
