Petting zoo & Picnic
Happy Tuesday Flanorians,
It’s the end of the academic year and I don’t know about you but I’m feeling like butter scraped over too much bread. Whenever I need a break I always go seek out some greenery. A cycle ride out of town, a walk in the park, a swim in the lake… ‘de kop leegmaken’ as my dad used to say.
For some fun distraction or celebration of the end of the year the AcCie wants to invite you to join us at a fun day at the Petting Zoo in the Stadspark.
I grew up in the countryside with hobby-farmers in the family so feeding the goats, bottle-feed the sheep or cuddle some chickens was a big part of my life. As much as I love my cats, nothing tops a feathered friend on your shoulders while finishing up those high school exams. That was three years ago for me now, so I say it’s high time to get back in touch with some chickens. If chicks ain’t your thing, I got you: the petting zoo here has many other animals too such as pigs, donkeys and even the odd cow or two.
The Petting Zoo meeting of the AcCie is followed up by the Coquerellen Picnic that aims to invoke the delightful feast of Bilbo's 111th birthday. Like the whole Shire, all of Flanor is invited to participate. If the Lord of the Rings is not your cup of tea, don’t worry! Anything delicious to share that brings you comfort is more than welcome!
The weather predictions are not looking too bright, so stay tuned for updates!
To not miss any of this goodness you can sign up for the AcCie Petting Zoo Activity on the website. And if you want to join and help prepare food for the picnic, don't hesitate to fill in the form or text Tamara (Coquerrellen) so we can together make sure there's food and drink for all!
Hope to see you Thursday for a cosy start of the summer.
