Lecture Nina Polak

At the beginning of our board year, we thought that this year we would also like to invite one or more 'hip, young authors' to give a lecture. Last March, Joost Oomen honoured our association with a visit and to our great joy, Nina Polak is coming to visit in June! With her debut We zullen niet te pletter slaan (2014) she immediately showed the Netherlands that she is a writer you have to know - the novel was nominated for three awards: the Anton Wachterpijs, the ANV Debutantenprijs and the Opzij Literatuurprijs. Four years later, her fans could run to the bookstore again for her second novel Gebrek is een groot woord. With this work, too, Nina put herself on the map: it was awarded the BNG Bank Literatuurprijs and the Inktaap. For both novels she also won the Charlotte Köhler Stipendium in 2018. In short: run to your local bookshop to buy one of her works (or wait until the lecture and buy one there). Besides writing novels, Nina is an editor at De Correspondent and wrote her first play Een vrouw blijft thuis in 2021. So Nina is not only a hip, young author: she is also an all-rounder in authorship. Whether you've been a fan since her first novel or had never heard of her before: the lecture promises to be a lot of fun and we hope to see you all there!
